Typical country house from the restoration of an ancient farmhouse a small residential group comprising just 9 apartments for holiday purposes has recently been created and is set in 44 ha of grounds delimited by a small forest at the bottom of the Arno valley; in the great garden ours pool, barbecue, chairs and table; around the silent and the green. Just 3.7 km away the village of Levane (various shops), 8 km Montevarchi (railway station from where in abt. 35 minutes you can reach Florence’s central station which itself is just a few hundred metres from the cathedral), 25 km Arezzo (an important Medieval city and which is also renowned on account of its artisan industry in crafting gold), abt. 40 km from the area of Pratomagno (Poppi, Chiusi della Verna, Bibbiena, etc.).Within a 30 km radius the most exclusive areas of the famous Chianti Classico full of prestigious agricultural estates and famous villages such as Radda, Gaiole, Greve and the Castle of Brolio. Extensive views over the hills and the forest bordering onto the Arno river and which you can reach along signed and pleasant pathways and which continue along through an interesting and protected area.

	Just home from two wonderful weeks at La Spiga. Excellent quality accommodation with fab pool. Perfect base for visiting places like Florence, Arezzo, Siena etc and just as nice staying and relaxing by the pool. Some very nice restaurants in the local villages and also big hypermarket in nearby Montevarchi so you can easily cook and eat in if you prefer. Emmanuela and Fabrizio were lovely hosts and live onsite also. Only slight negative worth noting is that the windows do not have mosquito screens and as it was very very hot during our visit, we really had to keep windows open and so got bitten loads!
