Le Docce farm holiday resort rises on the enchanting estate of the same name, on a hill in the heart of Tuscany that gently descends toward Castelfiorentino. It lies at the border between Florence, Pisa and Siena, not far from other towns of scenic, historic, and cultural importance such as San Gimignano, Certaldo and Volterra.
The estate is part of the farming enterprise run by the Ciampalini family that has cultivated the land in this part of the countryside for centuries. The family renovated the estate and converted it into a farm holiday resort, preserving the typical features of the original rural buildings and characteristic Tuscan crops.
The farmhouse and barn dominate the summit of the hill and have been restructured to obtain eight apartments for our guests. Beyond the seven apartments there is a delightful reception area, a swimming pool that offers a superb, sweeping view from San Gimignano to the Apuan Alps, a large park with picnic tables and barbecues, a lawn bowling field and mountain bike trails.
On the ground floor of the magnificent farmhouse, dating back to the mid-19th century, there are two apartments. One is called ‘Anemone’ (Anemone) and the other ‘Ginestra’ (Scotch Broom); on the upperfloor, there is the big 4-rooms apartment, ‘La Torretta’ (The nice Tower)
The other five apartments, located in the annexed barn, are called ‘Glicine’ (Wisteria), ‘Edera’ (Ivy) and ‘Girasole’ (Sunflower) on the ground floor, and ‘Noce’ (Walnut) and ‘Castagno’ (Chestnut) on the upper floor.
All of the apartments, except of ‘La Torretta’ are equipped with individual heating, ‘Anemone’ and ‘Ginestra’ with air conditioning, TV set in ‘Anemone’, ‘Ginestra’ and ‘La Torretta’, satellite TV in the other apartments and an outdoor covered terrace where it is possible to dine.
