The sites are scattered throughout the area but the largest one is that of <strong>Banditaccia<\/strong> with thousands of burials, the oldest ones date back to the <em>9th century B.C<\/em>. The burial mounds are characterized by a circular tuff structure within a representation of the deceased\u2019s house, complete with a corridor to access to the various rooms.<br>\nSince July 2004, the necropolis of Banditaccia, together with that of <strong>Monterozzi<\/strong> and <strong>Tarquinia<\/strong>, is a <em>World Heritage site of UNESCO<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For those who would like to immerse themselves in the history of these places it is possible to stay at the <strong>farm house <em>\u201cI 4 ricci\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, situated in the countryside of <em>Caeretane<\/em>, between olive groves, vineyards and orchards.
