The Castle of Udine<\/p><\/div>\n

Udine (Friulian Udin<\/em>, Slovene Videm<\/em>, Weiden<\/em> German historian) is a town of 99,000 inhabitants, capital of the province and is today the capital of Friuli.<\/p>\n

The city is located in the center of eastern Friuli plain, natural crossroads between the end of this border area and then the town of ancient origins. The city, in fact, lies at the heart of the Friuli region in the plains around a hill, which is located on the famous castle.
\nThe site on which it stands Udine was inhabited since ancient times and then in Roman and Lombard. The chosen location is strategic for its central position on the Friuli plain and the presence of a hill where the first inhabitants were able to shelter fortify it.<\/p>\n

The city is very livable and quiet, easy to get to by bike or by public transport.

\nUdine discovers gradually, over time, walking aimlessly and discovering the beautiful squares like Piazza Matteotti where there is a fish and vegetable market.
\nWalking through the charming downtown streets, onto which kept shops and craft (the goldsmith\u2019s art incorporates stylistic Lombard), one has to admire the historic taverns and cafes where it is very pleasing to stop for a taste of \u00a0\u201cFriulan\u201d cuisine.
