Santa Croce<\/p><\/div>\n

Lecce is the capital of the easternmost province of Italy. It is located in Puglia, but more specifically in the area called \u2018Salento\u2019.<\/p>\n

It is proposed as a city rich in resources, just think of the university, theater and music. In particular, however, is a place to have inherited a conscious artistic and architectural heritage without equal.
\nSimply walking through the downtown streets to find out how the passing of time has been able to mix styles and forms, creating seemingly different environments, giving the eyes of the beholder very special harmony of forms but all have opportunity to seize.
\nImmediately jumps to my attention that the common denominator, the Baroque.
\nSpecifically, the Baroque Salento is the famous \u201cLecce stone\u201d with its carvings and its shades drawn churches, houses, the splendor of the town square.<\/p>\n

About Lecce: <\/strong>
\nThe historic Lecce Gregorovius called \u201cFlorence of Baroque\u201d.
\nAs we have already stressed, is precisely to characterize the Baroque: portals, steeples, columns and balconies of the Old Town. Lecce stone is indeed a golden stone, hard, yet very malleable, so the processing of that stone has become the symbol of pride but also of population Lecce.
\nThe first step to penetrate straight into town and visit the church of Santa Croce which is located near the town square or Piazza Sant\u2019Oronzo. Square where stands the famous column Sant\u2019Oronzo who watches over the city and especially about the many devotees.
\nThe history of Lecce is very ancient, dating back even before Rome.
\nThe age from which the diverse activities Salento has more wealth since the end of \u2018500 \u2018700 as the beginning of what will be called the beginning of the Baroque era was born thanks to the work of stonemasons who lace, twisted, embellished, the now famous stone Salento.
\nSince then, the Salento, with its Baroque style, began to blaze through the character and independent style of local artisans.
\nBesides a visit to the beautiful moments is also very interesting to the kitchen and the sea of Salento, so beautiful that they can accommodate each year tourists from all over the world. The summer holidays are a wonderful opportunity to visit this place so full of resources.<\/p>\n
