The crisis also involved the winter holidays, and <strong>staying at a farmhouse<\/strong> can be a good idea to optimize the costs and enjoy the charm of our mountains.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Many of the farmhouses located in mountain centers are located at the masi (\u201cmaso\u201d is an Italian word impossible to translate in a clear way).<strong> What is a maso?<\/strong> It is a rural building (the name comes <strong>from the Latin <em>ma<\/em><em>nsio<\/em>, which means \u201cabode\u201d<\/strong>),<strong> common<\/strong> mainly in the <strong>area of \u200b\u200b<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agriturismi.it\/en\/trentino-alto-adige-sudtirol\" target=\"_blank\">Trentino Alto Adige<\/a><\/strong>. It represents a way of living much older than farmhouses: masi are usually made \u200b\u200bof wood, and characterized by the presence of local facilities for the storage of food stuffs.<\/p>\n<p>For the families of the impervious mountain areas <strong>a maso was and still is a resource, and<\/strong> with the explosion of winter tourism there are those who have decided to turn it into a restaurant and those who, instead, have decided to open a farmhouse.
