The Carso is the rocky plateau around Trieste and it covers the eastern part of Friuli Venezia Giulia arriving in Slovenia territory. The typical aspect of this territory is rich of churches and castles: the Monrupino Rock, the Hrastovlje Rock, and the Church of Santa Maria in Siaris. This territory is also rich in archaeological areas: the Castellieri, the Mitreo grove, the Pocala cavern. The Carso is a beautiful landscape for trekking and climbs.
