The Roman Castels are composed of urban cities in Colli Albani area. Their name originated from the Romans decision to seek refuge in the country because of the Cattività Avignonese (1309-1377): during this period the Pope move himself away in Avignone. Albano Laziale and Ariccia are some of the most important cities in this area: the second one in particular is famous for its Porchetta.
