Stop 1 — Perugia

Medieval centre, Palazzo dei Priori, Fontana Maggiore, Rocca Paolina. Historic university and chocolate capital.

Stop 2 — Assisi

UNESCO city of St Francis: Basilica with Giotto frescoes, Porziuncola, Hermitage of the Carceri.

Stop 3 — Gubbio

Perfectly preserved medieval town, Palazzo dei Consoli, Race of the Ceri (May), cable car to Mount Ingino.

Stop 4 — Spello and Montefalco

Spello with its flower festivals (June) and Pinturicchio frescoes. Montefalco, home of Sagrantino DOCG.

Stop 5 — Todi and Orvieto

Todi on three hills, Orvieto on the tufa cliff with the Gothic Duomo and Saint Patrick's Well.

Stop 6 — Marmore Falls

One of Europe's highest waterfalls (165m), created by the Romans. Lake Piediluco, Narni Sotterranea.
