The Stages
ALPE DI SIUSI By going up by cableway from Ortisei it is possible to reach Alpe di Siusi. This area is rich in ski runs and its highest point reaches 1,250 meters of altitude. This place is popular for the Scilar overlooking the biggest plateau in Europe. From here it is possible to see Gruppo del Sassolungo, a complex of the Dolomites of great impact with a view on the breathtaking panorama. |

CASTELROTTO Inhabited already in prehistory and located in a wonderful landscape among woods, high peaks and wide valleys, Castelrotto is considered as one of the most beautiful places in Alto Adige. Here there are different medieval castles and ancient 17th - and 18th century manor houses, small churches and towers located on practicable paths. |

ORTISEI Ortisei is the most popular town in Val Gardena. On its ski slopes international competitions take place, but winter sports are not the only reason that makes this resort so popular. It is in fact a place where walking is extremely pleasant: the central Piazza Sant'Antonio is the perfect place to admire the majesty of the surrounding mountains and the beauty of the small parish church, built from 1673. |

SANTA CRISTINA DI VAL GARDENA Santa Cristina in Val Gardena is a charming small town of little more than 1,000 inhabitants, which, together with Ortisei and Selva, is the destination of most tourists who reach these areas for the winter holidays. Among the most important monuments there is Castel Gardena (which is closed to the public), built in 1641 by the local noble Wolkenstein family. The charming complex is located at the feet of Sassolungo, and every summer it is the set of some concerts during the festival Valgardenamusika. |

SELVA DI VAL GARDENA Selva di Val Gardena is a ski resort of great importance, where people can enjoy different winter sports at all levels, and from where it is possible to reach the nature park of Puez-Odle. This village of just over 2,000 inhabitants holds a very important record: it is the urban center with the highest number of solar panels in Italy: there are about 2,000 m2 of panels installed in the area. |
