The farmhouse business in Liguria is regulated by the Regional Law No. 37 of November 21, 2007.

A farmhouse is meant for reception and hospitality, practiced by the farmer or his family.
The owner of the farm may give to guests and tourists his own products, food and beverage, including alcoholic drinks and spirits. The preference should obviously be given to local products, both produced by the farm, or by neighboring farms.
Farmhouse buildings already on the estate can be used and, if they are lacking, owners can use their dwellings, even if located outside the estate. Rooms must have a minimum area of ​​8 square meters in case of single rooms, and 11 square meters in case of double rooms.
To become owners of a farmhouse you must be registered to the List of Regional farming operators, and be in possession of a farm that has already been started. To open a farmhouse you have to apply to the municipality where the estate is located, presenting a technical report of the activity project.
