When it comes to Franciacorta, the first thing that comes to mind is sparkling wine. This hilly area located between Brescia and Iseo Lake is perhaps the most popular place for the production of highly valued (and envied too!) yellow bubbles. The geographical layout of the area has been deeply affected by viticulture: there are now many vineyards in an area that once used to be covered in woods.

The wine tradition in Franciacorta has very deep historical roots: just pick up some ancient texts, and you’ll realize that, for example, even Virgil spoke of the wine from this area near Brescia. The first wine cellars have begun their work in the 60s, and since then, people wanting to buy excellent Italian sparkling wine have been going to this region.

For those who wish to visit it, we also mention that, in addition to wine, there is also the possibility to visit some charming villages, such as Palazzolo sull’Oglio, a town that overlooks the river, very interesting for the presence of a medieval tower.
