Anyone who wants to see two of the most famous works inspired by this myth can visit the exhibition “Cupid and Psyche in Milan“, which opened on December 1st at Palazzo Marino, and will continue through January 13, 2013 .

This event, organized under the patronage of Eni, features two expressions of human creativity, painting and sculpture, and it shows how Western art has interpreted the sublime essence of this myth. Visitors will be able to admire the sculpture by Antonio Canova “Cupid and Psyche standing” and, for the first time in Italy, the painting “Psyche and Cupid” by François Gérard (1770), which depicts the moment when the young girl is kissed for the first time by the god.

The entrance to the exhibition resembles a neo-classical garden, in honor of a style that loved Greek culture, trying toconvey the best to scholars and enthusiasts.
