The folklore events in Sicily are many and interesting, and the most famous one is undoubtedly the Summer Carnival of Acireale. The town in the province of Catania is home to one of the most beautiful versions of the Italian Carnival, an event that features two different events during the year.
Among floats, music bands, games in the square, Acireale for two days turns into a city capable of transmitting in a perfect way the reality of the cultural energy of Sicily, through art workshops of papier-mâché (the material used to manufacture the famous Sicilian puppets) and moments of sharing knowledge of artisans and bartenders of the area.
