Alta Tuscia refers to the northern part of the province of Viterbo, a hilly region of volcanic origins, located on the border between Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. It is a land of great charm, where you can find very interesting routes both from the naturalistic point of view, and from the perspective of food and wine.

A must for anyone visiting this part of Italy is undoubtedly the Bolsena Lake , but there are several other places of strong impact. We mention the charming village of Grotte di Castro, famous for the cultivation of the potato, and the village of Gradoli, famous for hosting a castle that once was one of the residences of the Countess Matilde di Canossa.

From the culinary point of view, the area of Alta Tuscia is famous for potatoes, but also for garlic, the variety of honey from Mount Rufeno, and for the lentils of Onano, a beautiful medieval village in the Volsini Mountains.
