Close to foggy Lombardy, Piedmont is a land rich in cultural traditions, where the roots of the social and historical foundations of Italy can be found.

Discovering Piedmont means not to forget art cities such as Turin (with its major museums), which is always at the forefront of cultural promotion, and plunge into areas of great natural beauty, such as the province  of Novara and the surroundings of Lake Maggiore.
Among worth-visiting places there are Arona and Orta (we recommend an evocative pre-dinner drink by the lake), the Island of San Giulio, and  Parco del Ticino. There are many ways to discover Piedmont, from cycling routes to exhibitions and museums in the main cities.
This region, the cradle of the Risorgimento,  is still a tourist attraction of great importance, including architectural and natural beauties and cultural events which it is always interesting to visit for anyone who loves beauty and good food.

Specialties
There are many specialties of Piedmontese cuisine that are popular in Italy and abroad.  Among these there are undoubtedly agnolotti with gravy, bagna cauda (a typical dish of Turin), and donkey stew, very popular in the  province of Novara. Confectionery is famous for chocolate drops, which are a the pride of Italian tradition.

Events
Through June 1o, art lovers can visit the exhibition on the Twentieth-century avant-garde, which takes place in Vercelli, or again  in the field of culture, they can go to Tina (TO) for Aperilibro, an interesting series of meetings with Italian authors that will end on July 31st.
