Since 1996, a typical farm of the 18th century, once used for transhumance, welcomes guests on the ancient Path of Wool. Mr. Giuseppe takes us at the discovery of farmhouse Sant’Elia, in the province of Avellino, where it is really impossible to get bored: the activities in fact are different and numerous.

What characterizes your facility?
The farmhouse is in a green area, special for the places of Sunnis, the medieval villages, the caves on the “Via Micaelica”: it is possible to do excursions both on foot and on horseback, also on the itinerary that leads to Puglia from Abruzzo, where tranhumance used to take place.

Which activities can be carried out?
We offer quad excursions for kids, and lots of wals, enhancing the features of our land accorsing to the season: for instance the festival of the asparagus in spring, or “Erborizzando”, an event aimed at improving the knowledge of the officinal herbs of our territory. We are going to organize the collecting of mulberries in order to make jam: we are always trying to offer a number of interesting activities to our guests. We also suggest rural activities: not long ago we have celebrated the old-style harvest with old people, and on August 3rd we are going to organize old-style threshing; we would like to make young people take part in these traditional activities.

Which typical products can be tasted at your farmhouse?
We organize walks in the period of the olive harvest and the production of olive oil in November: when we come back we prepare “bruschette” and offer tastings according to the season.

What do you love the most of your land?
All that my grandparents have left me, such as the two-hectare rural park with herbs and old oaks: I think we must enhance what we have and treasure our territory; here there is so much history, and we need to spread the love for this beautiful land.
