The Asiago Plateau (also known as the “Sette Comuni”) is the largest plateau in Italy, and it is located on the border between Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige, in the Alps near Vicenza. Its size is over 500 square kilometers, and the average altitude is about 1,300 meters. It is a place rich in natural areas of great value and of equal importance for the environmental balance of our nation. From the historical and artistic point of view, this area was characterized by the presence of the Federation of Seven Municipalities, an administrative body created for defensive purposes, which was finally canceled in 1807, when Napoleon Bonaparte undertook the Italian campaign. The area of the Asiago Plateau wasloved by one of the geniuses of the literature of the twentieth century, the one of author Ernest Hemingway, who lived there as a fighter during the First World War.Among the most interesting monuments to visit there is  the Church of Santa Margherita, located in the municipality of Rotzo (a wonderful little village of 600 inhabitants), which is the first example of Christian architecture in the area (fifteenth century). The final tip is to taste the famous cheese. Those who want to stay at a farmhouse should take a look here.
