Nestled in the Agro-Erice, Farmhouse Don Carlo is an excellent facility, wonderfully managed and organized, connecting you easily with the hinterland and the coast west and north of Sicily. Mr. Leonardo tells us about his business with pride in the following interview.
In what area is your farmhouse located?
Farmhouse Don Carlo is located in the countryside of Erice, in the province of Trapani. This is a quiet area, away from cities, but only 10 km from our beautiful coastline. Our facility is a small and ancient Baglio of the 19th century, including the following structures: dwelling, storehouse and stables. We renovated it and turned it into a farm in the 1950s.
Do you offer any products?
We’re producers of extra virgin olive oil DOP. We also produce and sell oil preserves, jams and wine Erice DOC.
Do you offer any courses, or other kinds of services?
Certainly! We organize courses of tasting of the products we make, such as oil. We’re also planning the construction of a bike path of 1 km in our green and natural properties; work will begin shortly.
What places of interest can we find in your area?
We’re surrounded by an area rich in 3000-years-old history. In a short time you can also visit all the main tourist attractions in the province of Trapani, like Segesta and Selinunte (Greek sites), Mozia is only 10 km away, Erice, San Vito lo Capo, Marsala and Mazara del Vallo.
Do you organize any excursions?
Of course! We offer the opportunity to make day trips by boat to the Egadi Islands with lunch on board and excursions on horseback with a guide. In addition to this, upon request, it is possible to transfer from and to the airport of Palermo and Trapani.
