In the heart of Magna Graecia, along the uncontaminated and wild coasts of the Ionian Sea, immersed in an 80-hectare park, half of which is under organic citrus and stone fruit cultivation, lies the Masseria Eco-Agriturismo Torre di Albidona. An ideal starting point for naturalistic, cultural or religious excursions, immersed in breathtaking nature, our guests will be pampered by the sea breeze, the scents of the Mediterranean scrub and the genuineness of our products. The Masseria, which appeared in the 1970s with only a few almost intact buildings and many ruins, has been restored with great care to rebuild it in respect of its origins. The layout of the buildings and the names given to the individual houses tell the story of how farming and zootechnical activity was organised in the 19th century: the sheepfolds and cattle shelters in the upper part, set in a semicircle; the workers' dwellings at the base, close to the processing rooms. The uniqueness of this farm is represented by the view of beautiful panoramas from every point and by the prevalence of vegetation: flowering shrubs, scented hedges, citrus trees and Mediterranean scrub literally dominate everything, giving the image of a large garden that gives tranquillity and a sense of isolation. The farm takes its name from the 14th-century tower, built as a bulwark of defence for the village of Albidona (which lies behind, at an altitude of about 800 metres).
