Masseria Gargaleo is a farm of about 80 hectares, grown organically since 1994. In 2012 has been awarded the premio de@Terra, which the Italian Ministry of agriculture gives each year to 5 farmers women who have distinguished themselves in their business. The main building dates back to the 17th century with a furnace for the production of bricks, active until 1950. A true country house into a real organic farm a few miles from the Ionian Sea and with a wonderful view over the sea and the Badlands. A warm welcome to discover a part of Basilicata unknown to most people, but of great charm and history. The ideal place to enjoy the relaxation, but also to discover places and unique flavours. Two apartments are available to our guests, who have the name of our ancient trees: the Lentisco and Carrubo. They have the style of true country houses, with antique furniture and collectables, as you can capture their unique atmosphere. They are equipped with ample outdoor spaces fitted with tables and chairs, picnic point with a barbecue, a wood-burning oven and parking.

A small farm holiday accommodation where you can feel pampered in silence and peace. Our apartments are named after our giants, our centuries-old trees: the Mastic and the Carob. Independent and furnished each with its own style, with antique and mid-century modern furniture.

Services Farm-house

Our purpose is to be your country home, in which you must feel like the protagonists of your days. We offer two apartments equipped with a fitted kitchenette, which give you the possibility of eating at home or going out to discover the territory, and if you stay at home you have wifi, ample spaces for relaxation and outdoor living. You can enjoy an entire farmhouse that opens to welcome you. If you want you can buy daily freshly picked organic fruit and vegetables, or enjoy morning walks in the silence of the countryside. Or take advantage of our advice on what to do, see and eat.

Surroundings (Nova Siri)

Masseria Gargaleo is also a school farm open all year round. It is connected with local associations that organise theatrical performances and events of various kinds (festivals, etc). Just 10 min. away are the beaches of Nova Siri with 17th century historic centre and the Roman thermal baths, Rocca Imperiale with the 12th century Castle and the medieval village and Policoro with National Museum of Siritide and the Archaeological Park. Giulia Paola will be happy to suggest activities to do and characteristic places not to be missed (including pristine beaches and uncrowded by tourists), telling anecdotes and curiosities: stay in Basilicata is an unforgettable experience.
