"Le Farnie" is situated on the hills of Altomonte, in Calabria, between the National Park of Pollino, the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas. It is an organic farm and produces extra-virgin olive oil in its own artisan olive press. Hospitality is offered in a farmhouse built at the end of the 1800s and now entirely renovated, furnished with antiques and opens onto a portico with a panoramic view. Guest accommodation consists of five bedrooms (1 room for four persons, 2 triple rooms, 2 double rooms) with bath en suite; meals can be taken in a restaurant that seats fifty persons and has a large fireplace. Guests can enjoy good, traditional food (book in advance). Among the renowned and tasty dishes are "lagane e ciciri" (hand-made pasta with vegetables), "zafarani crushki" (crisp peppers), wild chicory soup, home-made flour gnocchi with ragù and farmhouse chicken en casserole with wild origanum. Among the renowned and tasty dishes are "lagane e ciciri" (hand-made pasta with vegetables), "zafarani crushki" (crisp peppers), "minestra di mishchiglia" (wild chicory soup), “rashkatieddri" (home-made flour gnocchi with ragù), "milingiani ara chijna" (stuffed aubergine), chicken en casserole with wild origanum. Furthermore, our production of delicatessen in extra virgin olive oil ... and among the desserts: “bocconotti” (baked fagottini stuffed with jam), the tart with bitter oranges marmalade, "giurgiulena" (crunchy sesame seeds with honey) and many others.
