In Villanova, on the hills above Levanto, the Massola family spent their summers as far back as the 1600s. The estate remains much as it was then: fifteen hectares of olive groves and vineyards, just a kilometer and a half from the sea and the entrance to the Cinque Terre National Park. Today the rooms and apartments occupy the same buildings, equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and safe. There is private parking, a shuttle service and laundry facilities for longer stays. Pets are welcome.
The farm cultivates mainly olives and grapes, but also fresh fruit and vegetables, all grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Breakfast is organic. In the garden you'll find a swimming pool, a hydromassage area, a solarium and a space for aerotherapy; yoga classes and massages can also be arranged. There's a play area for the little ones, and bicycles available for rent for those who want to explore.
Wine and oil tastings include small samples of local dishes. In cooking classes, a local chef teaches you how to prepare a three-course Ligurian menu using traditional recipes and tools: dinner is then served on the terrace of the villa. The property also organizes excursions and picnics to the villages of Cinque Terre, reachable by train, on foot or by boat.
