Welcome to Baglio San Vincenzo where, in the homonymous district to the north-east of the municipality of Menfi (AG), the San Vincenzo river flows. The Baglio (the name used to refer to the ancient fortified Sicilian farmhouses) is surrounded by gentle hills, lying between the nature reserve of the Valle del Belice and the Carboj valley, which slope down from Menfi towards the African Sea. The landscape is marked by the alternation of vineyards, olive groves, citrus groves, broom and flowering daisies, carob trees and prickly pears of the prized Santa Margherita del Belice variety, imported from the Americas just over five centuries ago. The blue of the sky and the sea on the horizon form the backdrop to a typically Mediterranean riot of colours. In the absence of haze, it is sometimes possible to catch a glimpse of the Tunisian coast. The sunsets enjoyed from the Baglio are spectacular: during the night, the riot of lights stretching in the distance from Castelvetrano to Selinunte, Porto Palo and Sciacca enhances the 'noise' of silence. The Baglio is located at the centre of a territory world-renowned for its archaeological, monumental, scenic and seaside features, which are exceptional even within the Italian context. The most distant destinations can be reached in no more than an hour by car. The thermal baths of Sciacca can be reached in 15 minutes, making the Baglio an excellent residence for those wishing to undergo thermal treatments. Baglio San Vincenzo has twelve guest rooms furnished in keeping with traditional Sicilian taste. The suites have a panoramic terrace, the rooms overlook the lush Sicilian countryside and the duplexes face the interior of the ancient courtyard. Also overlooking the internal courtyard are the restaurant room, created within the premises of the seventeenth-century wine cellar, where the palmento once used for treading grapes is still visible, and the conference room, which can accommodate up to 120 people. The Baglio also has a broadband internet connection with wi-fi. A further 10 suites, a sauna, a tennis court and recreational areas are currently under construction.
