The baglio is situated on a hill in the hinterland of Castellammare del Golfo (12 km), in a most fortunate position, thanks to its proximity to the archaeological park of Segesta (2.5 km) and the ease of reaching the motorway (2 km) connecting Palermo, Trapani and Mazara del Vallo (A29). The location allows very quick connections to the airports of Palermo and Trapani and to all the main towns of western Sicily. Arriving from Segesta, the first image of the typical baglio surrounded by vineyards is very evocative. As one approaches, the classic arrangement of the volumes becomes distinguishable, with the main body at the front. Two reconstructed family crests surmount the main entrance and, upon entering, the large inner courtyard opens up, with a well at its centre, closed at the far end by two small buildings where the accommodations are located. The rooms and apartments are comfortable and furnished in a simple manner. The main restaurant hall is spacious, where it is possible to enjoy excellent typical dishes such as rustic appetisers with stuffed sun-dried tomatoes called "chiappe" or "panelle", chickpea flour fritters. Also very beautiful is the infinity pool (6 x 12 - open Jun./Sept.) with a view over the countryside and the theatre of Segesta. There are numerous activities that can be practised: horse riding, mountain biking along the many routes of naturalistic interest in the area. It is possible to organise special excursions, such as birdwatching on Monte Inici in search of Bonelli's Eagles, or to launch oneself with a paraglider or hang-glider from the Montagna Grande.
