Quarazzana is a 16th-century village in Lunigiana, in northern Tuscany, where Ilaria and Stefano rent out the entire residential complex for groups of 8-17 people. The houses develop around an internal courtyard, with views of the Apuan Alps. The structure has been restored while maintaining the characteristics of historic architecture: stone walls, vaulted ceilings, details that tell the story of five hundred years past.
Stefano and Ilaria have managed the place since 2009. In the evening they offer on-site dinners with dishes such as pappardelle al ragù and crostini, made with local ingredients. The village has no noise: in the evening you can see the stars, during the day there is the silence of the hills and woods around. Those who come here speak of how easy it is to escape from routine. It is an hour away from Cinque Terre and Lucca. It attracts photographers, small groups of friends, those seeking spaces where time flows differently.
