DESCRIPTION FARM-HOUSE LA CANONICA

La Canonica Farmhouse was completely restored in 2005. It’s surrounded by 200 hectares (over 400 acres) of stupendous Tuscan green countryside: vineyards, olive groves and woods. La Canonica is fantastically central between Florence (50 km), Siena (40 km) and Pisa (60 km). It's extremely close to the historic town of San Gimignano and the Chianti Classic territory. Our guests can combine a relaxing visit with historic and artistic touring.
Thanks to the swimming pool, our restaurant and riding horses, La Canonica is the ideal location for those seeking an elegant and precious place, as well as for who want to discover and experience the elegance and beauty of Tuscany, sceneries, prestigious residences, culinary traditions, and the great wines.
We care for our apartments up to the littlest detail in order to offer you a welcoming, elegant and comfortable environment. All our rooms have terracotta floors, except for the two rooms with hand painted tiles that have a view on the old winter garden.
All the furniture: cupboards, glass cupboards, wardrobes and trunks are handcrafted, painted and decorated by artisans. Each apartment has differently styled furniture, colours and decoration to give each their own unique appearance. There are two apartments in the old hay bathat have tall ceilings with antique beams where enchantful lofts have been built in and are furnished with iron beds and a desk. In the turret, on the upper floor, you can find a small apartment, maybe the most romantic of them all. It is painted light blue with an impressive Spanish styled antique bed. All rooms have either handcrafted iron beds or antique wood beds. The later, in some cases, are restore remnants from the farm’s original antique furniture.

SERVICES FARM-HOUSE LA CANONICA

La Canonica is furnished with an 18 x 9 meter swimming pool and a baby pool. Following the stony pathway through a myriad of flowers in our large garden you’ll find the restaurant with a large terrace facing the hills and the outdoor arena. There is also a large room for parties, weddings and receptions, a wine bar and a comfortable reception room where you can sit, relax and even watch videos of some of the most important Reining competitions in the world, in which our horses have participated.
You can also enjoy relaxing walks along beautiful paths through the Tuscan countryside… for example, the ancient road of the Francigena. You can see where our horses are out to pasture along with their foals/colts. There’s even a lake line with oak trees and wild roses that you can visit. Animals are welcome here. The really passionate can rent bikes to take biking excursions or ride our beautiful quarter horses, children of champions, on our riding grounds, guided by an instructor.

Our agritourism was thought out in every detail to offer you a warm and elegant atmosphere, each apartment is furnished with diverse styles, colors and decorations to make them unique. The interior decoration was specially made with furniture of art and antiquity, selected by the owners and a prestigious local interior designer. TYPE 1 = BILO (for 2 p. or 2+2 p.) composed by n.1 double bedroom, n. 1 bathroom, kitchenette / leaving room, sometimes with day bed for 2 people.
TYPE 2 = BILO Superior (for 3+2 p.) composed by n.1 double bedroom, loft with 1 single bed, n. 1 bathroom, kitchenette / leaving room with day bed for 2 people.
TYPE 3 = TRILO 1B (for 4 p. or 4+2 p.) composed by n.2 double bedrooms, n. 1 bathroom, kitchenette / leaving room, sometimes with day bed for 2 people.
TYPE 4 = TRILO 2B (for 4+2 p.) composed by n.2 double bedrooms, n. 2 bathrooms, kitchenette / leaving room with day bed for 2 people.
TYPE 5 = DOUBLE BEDROOM (for 2 p.) with ensuite bathroom. Romantic bedroom

The beauty of the rooms and the great food will make your agritourism home unforgettable. The restaurant opens onto a large terrace. You can see our horses work and train on the riding ground. View the majestic hills where the horses are set out to pasture and grown to become champions. The terrace and restaurant are ideal for summer evening dinners and breakfast mornings out in the open. Wine tasting dinners at buffet available in the wine bar. Typical Tuscan and local cookery. Besides breakfast and dinner you can enjoy appetizers, typical Tuscan snacks, sliced meats, pasta, fried vegetables and other delicious snacks during the wine tasting at the wine bar.
