On the rolling hills of Benevento, the agriturismo Al Castello del Principe is a rare example where nature and history merge in complete harmony. The province of Benevento is rich in history, thanks to the presence of peoples who have succeeded one another on its territory over the centuries, leaving behind traces and traditions. The agriturismo is located in a Frederician castle. Originally built as a hunting lodge, it was inhabited by Emperor Frederick II for restorative stops before resuming his travels. Situated on a small hill, at 250 metres above sea level, it overlooks the valleys of Sannio and Irpinia, offering a sense of quiet and serenity interrupted only by the gurgling of the waters of the Calore river below. The dining room of the agriturismo can accommodate up to 60 people, and one can sample the cuisine, the classic fare of peasant tradition, in keeping with the great variety of products from the countryside, which here is particularly fertile, so much so that the farm also preserves its vegetables, known under the brand name "Spaccamontagna". The cured meats are also obtained from pigs raised on the farm, alongside the production of cereals for bread and pasta, wine and oil. Furthermore, at the castle it is possible, for those who wish, to stay overnight, with a maximum of 11 beds in rooms furnished in the style of a bygone era.
