We are Saskia, Dmitri, and our son Dajo, a Dutch family who embarked on a new adventure in Italy. In 2005, we purchased a small ruin in the municipality of Maissana, and after years of hard work, we brought our dream to life with B&B Fraseneggi: five apartments, a swimming pool, and a unique surrounding landscape to explore.

Later, we expanded our vision by creating a mini campsite near Maissana, another challenging project that turned out to be a success.

As time went on, our family’s needs evolved. In 2012, Dajo began attending high school in Sestri Levante, facing long daily commutes between the inland and the coast. This inspired us to look for a new challenge closer to the sea. In 2015, we found the perfect spot: what is now our Agriturismo OlivArancio, nestled in the hills above Chiavari.

We entrusted B&B Fraseneggi to Helmut and Bert, who run it with great care and passion, ensuring that guests enjoy unforgettable stays in the hills of Val di Vara. However, we kept the mini campsite, which remains Dmitri’s dream project.

At OlivArancio, we have taken on the ambitious task of restoring a 4-hectare olive grove on steep terraces, aiming to produce our own organic olive oil. Saskia manages the administrative side, having become well-versed in the intricacies of Italian bureaucracy, while together we pour our hearts into maintaining the agriturismo and embracing our life here.

In our downtime, we focus on maintaining the olive grove, the house, and the campsite. While we’ve embraced the Italian lifestyle, our Dutch roots remain strong — a blend reflected in the name of our agriturismo, *OlivArancio*: the orange olive.

We look forward to welcoming new guests and reconnecting with returning ones, sharing good meals, and enjoying aperitifs on the terrace with a sea view.

Surroundings (Leivi)

La Madre is located on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio and is easily reached by bus or car. The area is calm and peaceful and offers a marvellous view. Only 4 km from the motorway Genova-Livorno A12 - exit at Chiavari - and 4.5 km from the railway station in Chiavari. Only 200 metres from the bus stop Chiavari-Leivi line. Riding 1 Km, sea, sailing club, touristic port, tennis, disco-pub about 5 km far. For who wishes relax and wants to be close to one of the most beautiful italian gulf.
