Hi there! I’ m Miguel, the owner and the chef. I have always been working in the tourism industry as a manager for international companies, and I’ve always had a deep passion for cooking. What started as a hobby gradually became my main profession. I trained at an Italian culinary academy, where I graduated with top marks as a professional chef. Guests often describe my dishes as superb, innovative, yet deeply rooted in the culinary traditions of the Marche region and of Italy—traditions I learned from my mother-in-law, who has been the true muse behind my journey in the kitchen. I have a particular passion for wild herbs, which I personally forage in the countryside surrounding our property. What I love most is connecting with people—it brings me to life and allows me to discover new sides of myself every single day. I live here at Chiaraluce with my wife Claudia and our four children, who will surely bring joy and warmth to your holiday.
Chiaraluce boasts the perfect atmosphere for a quiet stay but also a wide choice of activities. Walks in the countryside, horse rides (riding school nearby) or bike (provided by the owners) trips are among the activities that can be performed. The sea is just 4 km off. The Monti Sibillini (Natural Park) are not very far. Those who prefer alleys to paths can have a drive to Massignano, Campofilone. There churches, historic palaces and precious masterpieces such as Crivelli polyptyc (Montefiore dell’Aso) won’t disappoint you. Chiaraluce often organizes meetings with writers, artists and musical evenings to be enjoyed in the cosy atmosphere of the place. Roberta, who speaks English and Spanish organizes full immersion language courses and funny courses to lea how to make Vincisgrassi (so deliciously calorific!) and Olive all’Ascolana. Chiaraluce Restaurant is well known for its traditional cuisine often sided by tasteful dishes made up on the spot Roberta follows the same inspiration she has in writing when she is cooking. She lets fantasy create new combinations of ingredients to find delightful flavours. Far away countries are evoked by some of her dishes. One of her inventions is a Mango and raisin chutney surrounded by thin slices of pecorino cheese. The flower shaped composition is delightful. The pecorino cheese and the honey garlic sauce melt in the mouth in a triumph of the Indian cuisine. Maltagliati alle noci e formaggi teneri, Saggezza di Cordelle, Filetti di pollo al sesamo e curry, Agnello pre salè allo zenzerodeserve having a go. The pastries and cakes are all home made. Ricoffe (a tasteful version of Tiramisù with ricotta cheese) is one of the most appreciated sweets together with Barchette alla Crema con frutti di bosco (custard boat-shaped pastry with wood-berries) and Mousse alla ciliegia (cherry mousse) usually served in summer for its lightness.
