Our Hotel "Eremo " is situated in an old basilian monastery, characterised by the elegant and imposing style of 1500 's architecture. It is located in a middle of a citrus orchard surrounded by a tranquil and uncontaminated green paradise in a suburb of Messina. All around it is the valley of Larderia, an ancient "Casale " of Messina, overlooked by Fort Cavalli situated on Mount Gallo; an Umbertine fort used to defend the inhabitants of the community of Larderia Superiore. This landmark looks down upon the hotel like a balcony from which one can view the sea. To the north is Dinnammare Mountain (1139 m.), sharing the name of the Sanctuary of the Madonna, and visited by many pilgrims, from which one has a panoramic view of the city of Messina, extending from the foot of the Straits to the Thyrrenean Coast. Looking further, one can see the mountains of Milazzo, and even glimpse the Aeolian Islands.
