The estate was built between the end of 1400 and the beginning of 1500. It consisted of confortable houses, a chapel, gardens and vineyards, an abundant water supply, two mills as well as a paper factory. In 1740, the architect Venanzio Marvuglia renovated the estate. Today, the conglomerate present architectural features which are the expression of the different changes over time in the arts and crafts. With its sombre but refined architecture where the farming tradition and the bare rock perfectly mingle, the confortable spaces dedicated to our guests open up. The large restaurant hall is the historical "Sala delle Botti" enriched by the ancient trusses and original columns. The Chapel is placed inside the "Baglio", which was once the heart of the social life of the village. The Chapel has recently been scrupulously restored; the work has carefully uncovered the original frescos, tangible signs of the evolution in the figurative arts. Mounted in the Jato Valley, Agriturismo Masseria La Chiusa is a precious historical and architectonic jewel and a comfortable solution for those who wish to combine the discovery of feudal Sicilian traditional and cultural itineraries to their holiday relax. Here at Agriturismo Masseria La Chiusa we offer to our guests the leading protagonist role in their own personal idea of relax and allow them to fully benefit from the amenities of the places and the discovery of nature. Our guests will also indulge in the pleasures of good food, thanks to our rich culinary choices, all in observance of the best local gastronomic tradition. The guests may also engage in sporting activities such as tennis and football at our sports centre or may relax in the swimming pool. Children can spend their time at the play area. The resort also intends to be an integral part of the local cultural life through the promotion of exihibitions, expositions, conventions and tasting sessions of the typical products of the Jato Valley.

With the attempt to give our guests the opportunity to decide on their holiday and on the use of the space and the facilities avaible, we have given the resort 3 different types of accommodation. These range from the classic hotel style double or triple rooms you access through a suggestive staircase carved into the rock, to a more residential style of flat with cooking corner and a large living room, and, finally, to a larger type of living accommodation with ample flats not far from the main building, but immersed in a rich vegetation and ample spaces to relax in. All the room types are furnished in the original 1800s Sicilia style and have Jacuzzi baths or showers, air-conditioning and heating, mini fridge as well as LCD TV.
