Campo di Forni is an olive-growing farm that has progressively diversified to also include an agritourism facility with accommodation available to nature-loving guests. The farm was established in 1974 with a plot of approximately eight hectares, surrounded by a setting of woods and natural ditches, cultivated with mixed cereals, around a hundred olive trees and fruit trees. The farm has always been managed by its owner, and makes use of locally hired labour according to its needs. Cooperation with neighbours is excellent and follows the traditional characteristics of exchange and mutual support. Since 2011, accommodation has been available for agritourism guests. The environmental characteristics have favoured the agritourism development of the farm. The location on the edge of the Park offers, in fact, a wide range of excursion possibilities. Moreover, both the high mountain areas and the beaches and areas of historical interest in the region are easily accessible. We take care to inform and advise guests on possible excursions to places of historical or naturalistic interest, with particular reference to the nearby Gran Sasso and Laga National Park, the Lago di Penne Regional Reserve, the various archaeological museums in the area and the nearby towns. Mountain bikes can be rented locally. The accommodation is located in a farmhouse renovated with attention to environmental protection and energy saving (waste disposal with phytodepuration and photovoltaic energy production). We have 12 beds in air-conditioned double rooms with Wifi internet connection and equipped with large terraces to enjoy the surrounding nature. Two-room modules, one double and one twin, with a bathroom have been specifically designed for families. On the ground floor, a twin room is dedicated to our disabled guests. Access for disabled guests is ensured throughout the ground floor, which includes a dining room, a living room and large porticoes. Our kitchen is used solely for the preparation of meals for guests. We do not offer catering to non-residents in order to preserve the tranquillity of the environment as much as possible. The lawn in front of the building is dedicated to relaxation and children's games, and also includes an amateur bocce court. Exploring the surrounding countryside allows guests to become familiar with local nature. Unfortunately we cannot accept dogs and cats, as ours are extremely territorial and have not yet got used to the arrival of other animals.
