Il Pagliaio stands on the Monte Finocchio pass at 600 metres, between Sarsina and Ranchio. Two small bio-built apartments overlook the ridges of the Appennino Romagnolo: from the windows you can see only forests and hills sloping away to the horizon. The structure is a didactic farm where donkeys, alpacas and other animals are raised according to natural rhythms.
Here they cultivate organically and produce goat cheese, honey and jams that can be purchased at the Bottega del Pagliaio. Guests arriving with children find activities scheduled on weekends: excursions with the donkeys, practical lessons on farm work, nature observations. Farm guests eat what the land produces, prepared using traditional methods. The structure also organises seasonal events from April through summer.
