Casa Rossa ai Colli will welcome you in a neat and familiar atmosphere, where you will enjoy lushing meadows, the shade of beautiful alders, o live and beech trees and a great view on the Friuli 's countryside. All this a few steps away from San Daniele del Friuli, land of the famous prosciutto crudo (raw ham). Alessandra was bo in Trieste and three years later moved to Udine where she studied and worked, first in the technological field as data processing consultant in a world-wide known local company, then in the financial sector. Eventually, the fate put on her way a neglected house on the green hills. It was love at first sight. Being farsighted and perseverant, she rolled up her sleeves and, working as a factotum, contributed to tu a ruin into the Red House on the Hill. Bo in 1906, as a rural house, by the will of the Counts of Porcia, I’ve lived through two wars and a terrible earthquake. I’ve seen the ten sons and daughters of Alice and Pio grow to adulthood. After being neglected for 7 years, in 2001 I was brought back to life, taken care with love, enlarged, embellished and turned into an Agro-Tourist Accommodation. I am surrounded by olives, fruit trees, flowers and woods that hide shady lanes just made for romantic strolls. From the top of my hill I dominate the close by San Daniele, famous for its Prosciutto, the Tagliamento river that runs through a green valley, cultivated fields, mild hills and steep mountains. I occupy a privileged position suitable for touring numerous historic and artistic centers and for visiting many little trattorias and restaurants where one can savour genuine local fare accompanied by esteemed ‘friulani’ wines. I am ready to offer my hospitality with simplicity and friendship.
