At Poggio Mirteto, in Sabina, forty-five kilometres from Rome. Casa Nettarina raises bees, produces honey and pollen, and has an orchard surrounded by olive trees. Two apartments, Polline and Miele, perched on a hillside with views over the Sabina valley. The swimming pool overlooks the same valley. Everything is run by Mario and Beatrice, with their children Martino and Livia and their dog Mirtilla. Organic homemade breakfast: bread, jams, honey, cake, fresh eggs, and oil from the farm's own olives. For those who want to learn something new, there are educational beekeeping courses, workshops for children, kite and paper aeroplane making, and composting seminars. Pets are welcome. The Rome-Florence motorway exit is just minutes away.
