It is just a slice of Sicily, a small magical corner of the late 19th century that we have discovered and loved before you and that we would like to share with those who know how to appreciate the flavour of a past that belongs to us. We do not have a thousand activities to offer you to fill your days, here your time will be yours alone. You can walk among the trees or follow the ancient paths, sit in the shade of an oak tree and listen to its story or tell it your silences. You can reach Troina 'Vetustissima civitas' and its lake or simply chase lizards on the stone walls. You can pick asparagus in the crags or cyclamens and mushrooms in the groves, but whatever you choose to do, at Cota it will always have the ancient flavour of when time was short. Surrounding the two-storey manor house is the Baglio with rooms for the farmers, stables for the animals and areas used for various activities, evidence of a substantially self-sufficient economy: The olive press for olives, the palm grove for wine, the granary and storerooms for provisions. Today open to visitors along with a small collection of peasant objects. Unique landscape views, detachment from the hectic pace, rediscovery of nature, details of times gone by. A unique and unforgettable journey through time. The structure has 8 rooms, a suite and an independent flat, built respecting the ancient typology of the patronal villa and maintaining small details that act as a link between past and present. All rooms are equipped with TV, air conditioning, bathroom and linen. At guests' disposal, guided excursions to the neighbouring localities of Troina, Nicosia and Sperlinga, to Adrano, to Nelson's palace in Bronte, to the Rocca Normanna in Paternò, to Etnaland (about half an hour away). The animals of the rural tradition: sheep, ducks, hens, dogs, cats, and the guided excursions on horseback through the fascinating woods of the estate, are the protagonists of the rediscovery of the ancient bond between man and nature. The kitchen brings together the ancient dishes of the country tradition, making use of the strong and genuine flavours of local produce. Our experience and love for nature and genuine things has led to the production and sale to the public of organic products such as oil, jams, preserves (aubergines, mushrooms, peppers), bread, wine and pasta. Agricultural production certified organic by Ecolert Italia.
