Only 20 kilometres from Trento, the Valle dei Mòcheni is known for being a linguistic island of German origin, but it remains in the heart for the extraordinary scenery of the alternating colours of nature. An evocative environment to get to know by following itineraries among the meadows and woods, around the houses and among the masi (farmsteads), to be explored on foot in relaxing walks leading to the malghe (shepherd's huts) and refuges, or by venturing on more challenging routes, with one's gaze fixed on the high peaks of the superb Lagorai mountain chain, the walk leading to Lake Erdemolo is highly recommended. Not far are the Levico and Caldonazzo lakes and the Levico thermal baths. The Valle dei Mòcheni also preserves intact its folklore and gastronomic traditions, evidence of the culture and customs of a population that has managed to preserve its identity not only with the rituals of its festivals but also with its love for the environment and the protection of its historical and cultural heritage.
