I am originally from England, in the countryside near Oxford, where I graduated in foreign languages and literatures. I moved to Italy in 1964, where I worked for several years at the British Institute and as a lecturer at the University of Florence. In 1969 I founded Rendola Riding, one of the first agriturismos and equestrian tourism centers in Italy, which I continue to run today with the help of my colleagues Isabella and Eraldo. In my free time I write books: to date I have published "Il Libro Pietro, storia di un contadino toscano", "Le ricette di Pietro", "Il Ciclo dei Mesi", "Tuscany on horseback".
Founded in 1969, Rendola Riding is one of Italy's first agritourisms and has always preserved its informal atmosphere and convivial spirit, where one can feel at home. The structure is a typical 17th-century Tuscan farmhouse and enjoys a panoramic and strategic position, from which one can easily reach the art cities of Florence, Arezzo and Siena, as well as the Chianti hills. There are 6 rooms available for guests, all with bathroom, furnished with the simple furniture of the past. Isabella's excellent cuisine is shared in a spacious dining room. The comfortable living room with fireplace is the centrepiece of the house, with a fine collection of classical music and a rich library. As the name suggests, Rendola Riding also offers horse riding, with rides and lessons for all levels, qualified instructors and guides.
