The tenuta il tresto is a typical tuscany farm located in the hearth of the chianti area, adjacent to places full of art and hystory such as san gimignano, monteriggioni and colle val d’elsa, close to the castle of strozzavolpe and to the castle of the magione. The hospitality of the tenuta il tresto offers a relaxing stay, in an atmosphere of quiet and intimacy, in old seventeenth century houses, recently restructured with a careful recovery of the old architectural style and equipped with all modecomforts. The farmhouse il tresto offers to the guests 8 rooms all with private services and showers, colour tv; 5 apartment for 2-6 persons; typical breakfast room, meeting room, swimming pool with solarium and panoramic garden, laundry, car park, farm products: wine, olive oil. The old village of il tresto, risen around the seventeenth century main villa, overlooking the vineyards, the olive-groves and the gentle valleys that spread as far as the eye can see in a myriad of colour shadings, allows the view of a enchanting corner of the val d’elsa. The farm il tresto is nestled in a natural animal reserve where it is possible to see pheasants, hares, wild boar, foxes, partridges and where you can still see glow-worms and hear the crickets calling on summe ights. Its particular geographical position permits easy connections with rich centres in art, history and culture like florence (km 35), siena (km 20), san gimignano (km 12), volterra (km 30), pienza (km 40), pisa (km 90) and the seaside (km 75).

The surrounding gardens and wide spaces will make more pleasant the outdoor life. The farmhouse also invites its guests to enjoy a dip in the private swimming-pool surrounded by olive trees and pleasant walking and biking in the surrounding woods and valleys.
Due to their different architectural structure, rooms have all been furnished differently, with particulary refined fabrics and antiques that harmonize with the ambience. Even though the "past" was carefully remastered, the 8 rooms of the farmhouse Il Tresto offer every mode comfort: free wi-fi in the common areas, color television with satellite reception, private bathroom are the mode comfort that are offered, trying to be always ready to please and satisfy our guests.

Very varied continental breakfast : milk, coffee, tea, chocolate, fresh bread, meats and cheeses, cereals, juices, yogurt, fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade jams. Also available gluten-free products (on request).

Surroundings (Poggibonsi)

San Gimignano rises on a hill (334m high) dominating the Elsa Valley with its towers. Once the seat of a small Etruscan village of the Hellenistic period (200-300 BC) it began its life as a town in the 10th century taking its name from the Holy Bishop of Modena, San Gimignano, who is said to have saved the village from the barbarian hordes. The town increased in wealth and developed greatly during the Middle Ages thanks to the "Via Francigena" the trading and pilgrim's route that crossed it. Such prosperity lead to the flourishing of works of art to adothe churches and monasteries. On the 8th May 1300 Dante Alighieri came to San Gimignano as the Ambassador of the Guelph League in Tuscany. In 1348 San Gimignano's population was drastically reduced by the Black Death Plague throwing the city into a serious crisis. In the following centuries San Gimignano overcame its decline and isolation when its beauty and cultural importance were rediscovered.
