Description Corboli

Corboli is an organic family-run farm, on a hill close to the village of San Quirico di Vernio (Prato province), among the chestnut trees and the typical fields of the Bisenzio valley. In our organic farm, we breed Cinta Senese PDO pigs, Quarter Horses and bees. We produce honey, extra virgin olive oil, jams and chestnut flour products. The farm was established around the late 90s, with 6 separate apartments in old tuscan style, swimming pool, farm restaurant, farm shop and tasting rooms. We like local traditions, genuine food and good company.

Services Farm-house

Please try and look after the things you use they will need to be used by others afterwards. The guest room is right in front of the swimming pool and is always open. In there, you'll find maps and tour books, books which our guests decided to leave behind when they left; you will also find free carbonated and natural fresh water – eliminating the need for plastic. There is a machine for making a relaxing tea or infusion, or a good cup of coffee from coffee pods. The use of wi fi is free of charge, but please be patient if you do not connect easily or the applications are a bit slow. The laundry room can be used by all guests: there is a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, etc. We have been an organic farm for over 20 years now and we cultivate and breed in permaculture. If necessary and with advance notice, we can take you to and from the train station or into town for shopping. Our cats and our dog are at your disposal for cuddles, stroking and purring.

Vegetables and legumes, good fruits of the earth, passion of farmers and peasants are the basic and traditional ingredients of the tuscan cuisine. Thanks to these passion and tradition, we propose many alternative menus and tastings based on vegetarian dishes. Appetizers, main courses and desserts based on vegetables, legumes, fruits and cereals are very common on our table and can be requested by our guests. Good fruits of the earth, tasty ingredient and the genuine traditions are the basis for a healthy and savory diet!

You can have breakfast or dinner in our small restaurant, we are always open. The 'Osteria Corboli’ will warmly welcome you with intense aromas and flavours all year round, from our seasonally changing menu. However, we always serve potato ravioli and cinta Senese DOP. Our guests are always welcome to join us at the dinner table. Our menu changes seasonally, so at the moment we offer a winter menu at reasonable cost (at least 6 people) We serve Carmignano wine and mineral water. Breakfast

Coffee, milk, cappuccino, tea, toast with butter and jam, fruit, yogurt, breakfast pastries and biscuits, all home-made by us. Other beverages or foods are available upon request.

Surroundings (Vernio)

Our area is full of trees and water. We are near to an environmental reserve and it is quite easy to see deer, porcupines, badgers and wild boar. We are strategically situated to visit most of Tuscany. In just a few kilometers, you can visit Florence via Mugello. You can take the highway to Siena, Lucca, Pistoia, Arezzo, etc. .. Our own main city is Prato with its cathedral containing the external pulpit by Donatello and frescoes by Filippo Lippi; the castle of Emperor Frederick II, the only castle of its kind in central/north Italy; a church built by Sangallo, a Renaissance prototype; the Praetorian town hall; the Cicognini college where D'Annunzio studied, and the Renaissance palace of Francesco di Marco Datini - the merchant from Prato who left us all of his merchant and banking correspondence. Prato has the only museum dedicated to Italian fabric – it is the prototype for other "Italian Style" museums.
