“Pian di Marte” is a hostel in the hills surrounding Lake Trasimeno, close to Perugia and Cortona It 's bofrom the transformation of the antique complex of San Cristoforo, and still retains the typical charm of rural establishments in Umbria on the border with Tuscany Our facility is family owned and operated, and we all live right here in the old rectory, so we can be fully available to meet all you eeds during your stay. The country house and the tobacco building have been transformed into guest housing, with the classic farmhouse external staircase giving access to the two upper floors where there are 8 rooms, each with a private bathroom. The animal stalls and storage from the original ground floor baare now a large common living room with an country fireplace that consists of 3 century old stonework, a small anteroom and a dining room. Several of the additional farm buildings have been modernized to create individual guest rooms, each with independent entries, and one of them is equipped to accommodate handicapped guests. All the annex rooms have direct and independent outside access, so we can easily welcome guests with animals.guides and catalogues along with our personal consultation and advice upon request. Pian di Marte Valley nestles between Lake Trasimeno and the hills of Cortona, a peaceful corner of rolling pastures and woodlands that's perfect for escaping the summer heat. We enjoy temperatures up to seven degrees cooler than the lake at the height of summer, and remarkably few insects too! It's the ideal retreat to return to each evening after exploring the art cities of Umbria and southern Tuscany – we're perfectly positioned halfway between Assisi and Siena – followed by a sunset along the shores of the lake.
