Il palazzo is an old masseria (farmhouse) just outside the historic centre of santo stefano di sessanio, one of the most beautiful medieval boroughs in abruzzo and in italy. The building hosting the residence very probably dates back to the 17th century and it still features the traces of the history, culture, and life of the family that lived there. A hard life, lived through a difficult but sometimes flourishing economy, that grew and developed between these walls. As a matter of fact, some stones in the loadbearing walls, like in all the borough, feature some bas-relief carvings that bring to the mind the romanic origins of the first settlements. The simple and essential architecture has offered safety, privacy, comfort, and everyday life autonomy to its inhabitants even during the hardest times for historical or weather conditions. Nowadays, the place has been accurately refurbished but the characteristics and the peculiarities of each space have been totally respected.
