Description Feudo Gagliardi

The biggest part of the farmhouse was originally purchased in 1972 by “Don Ciccio Vozzo”, descendant of an important landowner who, after a prosperous period of hard working due to silkworm trading (a very flourishing activity in the area at that time), was leaving a slow decline at the beginning of 1900. The new property, located in Stincuso-Feudo Gagliardi, expanded a rural land on a high hill named Tredonne, which already belonged to the Vozzo’s. Since 1999 the farmhouse is managed by Don Ciccio’s sons, Vincenzo (agronomist) and Teresa (agricultural entrepreneur) who followed their father’s aim of renewing the agricultural spirit and tradition. In 2002 a new land located in Candidati was rent by family Delvecchio-Vozzo. The lands, first cultivated with olives, vineyards and arable, were changed during the 80’s to citrus plantations. Lately, constant and continuos transformations supplied the farmhouse with a great variety of cultivations. Nowadays there are 25 hectares, with organic cultivation since 1998. Three hectares belongs to the vineyard (just renewed), two to the olives, five to the citrus plantation; there are also orchards, vegetables, greenhouses(strawberries) and wide pastures perfect for trekking, mountain bike and horse excursions. You will smell an unpolluted nature (brooms, acacias, myrtles…..) The Feudo Gagliardi farmhouse is the ideal place for all those guests who are looking for a very relaxing holiday surrounded by the nature in the quiet of the countryside. Its position close to the Palombaro mount (3 km far from the historical centre of Caulonia, 6 km from the beach, 15 km from the mountain) makes it possible to get to several historical and cultural villages, seaside resort and mountain sites in the Parco delle Serre area. You will be enchanted by the surroundings.. The ancient country house, located inside the estate, wisely renovated respecting the local and rural architecture, is a very cosy and comfortable. It is perfect for a holiday in the agricolture tradition. The farmhouse consist of a very nice restaurant with a large terrace where you can taste the delicacies of the tipical farm cooking and the first floor where you can find four bedrooms with private bathrooms furnished with a rural style. Our cuisine offers the most typical dishes of Calabrian tradition enriched with all the products from our farmhouse (fruits, extra virgin olive oil, wine, vegetables, preserves, jams) and from the neighbours ( cold cuts, cheese, meats and hunting meats). You will find out the flavour of the best rural tradition. Soups, grilled meats, stuffed pastas together with excellent wines, produced and bottled in the farmhouse, will fill your nights far from the city lights. It is also possible to request special dishes for parties and groups. We have 4 rooms (8-10 persons) furnished in rural style. All the rooms, comfortable and cosy, are ideal for a completely relaxing stay. Facilities: private bathroom, TV, air conditioning, central heating.

The accommodation consists of 9 rooms, including one especially for disabled people with all the necessary comforts, all traditionally furnished with taste, comfortable and inviting, offering up to 25 beds, with a friendly atmosphere and ideal for the stay in company in a relaxing (private bathroom, TV, air conditioning, independent heating.)The rooms are all with views of the surrounding countryside solar, rich in citrus and grape varieties that make up the fragrant backdrop to stay at the property

In point of comfort cuisine offers traditional dishes from Calabria, full of the company's products (fruits, olive oil, wine, vegetables, preserves, jams) and nearby businesses (meats, cheeses, meats, game). You'll find the flavor that contains the secrets of the best country tradition. The soups, roasts and stuffed pasta, accompanied by excellent wines produced and bottled on the farm, will keep you company in the evenings free from city lights. Dishes on request for small receptions and parties (please order). -

Its location (3 miles from the center of Caulonia, 7 from Roccella Ionica, 6 km from the Ionian Sea, 15 km from the mountain - Park of Aspromonte Park and greenhouses), allows easy access to both the beaches and towns of the coast , the charming villages of the rural hinterland hills and mountains, including famous places of historical and cultural (Epizephiri Locri, Gerace, Mammoth, Stilo)
