Framed between the river Idice and the river Sillaro, just outside the hamlet of Campotto di Argenta, there are 234 hectares of water, reeds and wet meadows, a natural habitat for numerous species of birds and an ideal territory for various types of plants. Hidden by embankments, woods and countless waterways, Vallesanta jealously guards the last remnant of the inland freshwater marshes that characterised the ancient 'Padusa'. In the clear sunny days of spring and summer and in the fascinating colours of autumn and winter, the Vallesanta route offers walkers and cyclists views of wide open spaces. Following the route along the perimeter of the valley, one can admire, while also taking advantage of the observatories, abundant surface vegetation and the rich population of birds in the valley. Remaining on the bank of the Sillaro river, the Vallesanta offers a majestic panorama of unspoilt nature where water dominates every form of landscape. The 'Vallesanta' agritourism offers the possibility of sleeping in one of the four spacious rooms inside the eco-sustainable wooden cottage built next to the courtyard. DESCRIPTION: the building was built with a load-bearing wooden structure, the walls are made of several layers of spruce boards. The high thermal and acoustic insulation was achieved exclusively through ecological plant-based materials. The excellent thermal performance, which prevents both overheating in summer and heat loss in winter, allows for minimal use of heating and air conditioning systems; this translates into energy savings and health for the occupant. The thermo-hygrometric properties of the natural materials used provide high living comfort. Wood and wood fibre in fact breathe and regulate the humidity of the rooms, transmitting an immediate sensation of well-being. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, independent heating system, television and air conditioning.
