The farm 'Il Cucco' has belonged to our family for over a century. Until the end of the 1940s, it was run on a 'closed-cycle' basis and dealt with the cultivation of fodder to feed the cattle, which were reared in the stables. The milk was then processed into excellent butter and the characteristic 'grana padano' cheese (we are in fact located to the right of the Reno river, therefore within the specific area of this cheese). The cycle was finally closed with the waste from milk processing, precious food for the pigs, whose products were a very important resource for all the families living here. The farmhouse is a system of houses arranged around a large farmyard, now a garden, full of trees, shrubs, flowers and a small pond. During the various phases of renovation of the large farmhouse used as an agritourism, we used green building techniques as much as possible. This is why we applied for and obtained the Bioagriturismo certification from AIAB. There are eleven rooms, each one different from the other, each with its own name and its own characteristics: spacious, well-lit and with its own bathroom. The furniture is not rustic, nor country, nor vintage, but the original furniture from a century ago, belonging to the families of those years. Some of the larger rooms can occasionally accommodate a third bed, others can have beds that can be separated to accommodate two colleagues or for customer requirements. The comfort we offer is particularly suitable for business travellers. The beds are comfortable and spacious and each room is equipped with a small table for working and a free WiFi internet connection. Fresh fruit available in the fireplace room and a bottle of water complete the service. Getting a good start to your day, be it work or leisure and rest, also means taking the food you feel you need; this is precisely why we offer our guests a rich and varied breakfast. Since 1999, the year we opened, we have tried to offer our guests a cuisine that makes ample use of our land products, with particular attention to the quality of the raw materials and the simplicity of the flavours. Thus, over the years, thanks also to the contribution of our customers, we are now able to offer a menu that changes daily and weekly, always following the seasonality of the products. You will also find a small selection of regional wines, organic and otherwise, and an excellent house wine, all with a very favourable price-quality ratio. Not only eat and sleep! At the agriturismo il Cucco you can play in the garden, cycle through the narrow lanes of our countryside, read in an armchair or on the lawn, connect to the internet, and finally meet up with your colleagues in the small meeting room.
