On the border of the territories between the medieval Tuscania and the Etruscan Tarquinia, immersed in the typical countryside of the Tuscia Maremmana, the countryside that fascinated the first travellers in the 19th century to discover Etruria, such as Stendhal and George Dennis, and artists who portrayed its landscapes, the Re Tarquinio farmhouse is a small oasis for body and soul. It is situated on a rise, flanked by the wide valley of the Marta river and facing south towards a dreamlike view, which goes from the outline of the towers of Tarquinia to the sea, ending in the infinite sunsets of an immense sky. Whoever arrives is welcomed by a familiar atmosphere, among nature, art, beautiful landscapes, typical and traditional flavours, with the possibility of choosing between a horseback excursion, a relaxing swim in the pool or reading a good book, among green hills and the sky. Aware of our respect for nature, we know that every beauty needs care and attention. That's why, among other things, we wanted a photovoltaic system for clean, autonomous energy; a purifier to rid the water of arsenic and all impurities; we made practical objects using recycled materials. Each room has its own artistic characterisation. Particular care has been given to the furnishings, which are made up of elements of fine craftsmanship and antique art. Cosy and equipped with every comfort, they all have independent entrances and are able to offer a service suited to the needs of both families and individual guests. The farmhouse houses the permanent exhibition of Mariella Gentile, an emerging artist from Viterbo, with her works displayed in the various rooms. All rooms and common areas are equipped with wi-fi service. Ours is a traditional cuisine, but open to new flavours.
