Agriturismo "La Betulla " is easily reached from the Autostrada dei Laghi, exit Sesto Calende direction Luino. Situated in a hilly position between the enchantment of the Borromeo Islands and the charm of the upper Lake. The management is family-run and guarantees a warm welcome and courtesy. The Agriturismo is surrounded by greenery, a few hundred metres from the Valtravaglia provincial road. Extreme ease of communication, therefore, with the Luino railway station 5 minutes away by car. The beautiful city of Lugano is only 25 kilometres away, Varese 30, Laveno 8, and the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore can be reached by ferry from that port. But Brezzo di Bedero offers, to those seeking peace and quiet, the unspoilt green of Valtravaglia, the woods of San Michele and Sant'Antonio. Beautiful and romantic walks in a landscape where everything is still natural, where you can hike through the fields or ride a mountain bike. The beach is less than a kilometre away and in summer is frequented by bathers. Good hospitality has always been a tradition at the Betulla: it is accessible to the disabled, dogs and small animals are accepted, and parking is private. Catering is also available on the farm. The living room, in rustic style, is attractive, set in the nature around it. It offers typical dishes from the upper Varesotto. Of particular note are the homemade hors d'oeuvres of cured meats, the pasta all'uovo with the house recipe, and dishes with ancient flavours. The chef recommends pappardelle with wild boar sauce, tagliatelle with pesto or walnut sauce, risotto with nettles or mushrooms, and baked lasagne. Homemade dishes. But the list does not end, it continues. There is perch fillet from our lake, wild boar salmi', braised beef, mixed roasts... And the meat comes from our farm 'La Betulla'. La Betulla' hosts banquets, weddings, and can accommodate up to 120 people. In good weather you can eat on the terrace, comforted by the breeze that perfumes the Valtravaglia and the lights of the villages reflected in the lake.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at Agriturismo La Betulla. It was charming. We loved seeing the working farm. Their fresh farm to table food was delicious - both breakfast and dinner - and very reasonably priced. Contrary to an older review, we found the menu to have a good variety. Their pizza was the best! The staff was friendly and patient with us as we tried to communicate with our minimal Italian. Our room was clean and enough for all 3 of us.
