Cascina Pezzolo is an example of a closed court agricultural structure. The farmhouses, stables, barns and other buildings are constructed to form a closed, protected quadrilateral, accessed through gates, and at the centre of which are the farmyards. The water that reaches Cascina Pezzolo is derived from the Adda, via the Muzza canal, built by the people of Lodi around 1230. From this canal via two irrigation ditches called Camola and Gavazza, it reaches Cascina Pezzolo. For five generations, attention and care have been devoted to the land and the animals; now the owners have decided to begin a challenging renovation project, allocating part of the farmhouses to farmhouse accommodation. It is a firm belief that only by bringing people back into the farmhouses can they be brought back to life. The work was carried out with respect for the historical-architectural features of the buildings, so it is possible to stay in the same spaces once inhabited by farmers, relax in the garden, stroll along the irrigation ditches and canals of the Lodigiano, reliving forgotten atmospheres. Surrounded by greenery, Cascina Pezzolo is located near ancient and modern road junctions, and its proximity to the A1 Lodi motorway tollbooth makes it possible to quickly reach Milan and other destinations, making it the ideal place to stay for business trips and tourism. Guests are offered eleven rooms with spacious and bright private bathrooms, all furnished with particular attention to the choice of period furniture and furnishings. The respect for the historical-architectural features followed in the conservative restoration makes each room unique. The spacious and welcoming communal areas, together with the garden, make it possible to experience atmospheres full of charm. Breakfasts are prepared with products from the farm itself and other local producers, all of excellent quality. The thermal energy used by the agriturismo is obtained through the use of biomass from the farm and solar panels, to protect the environment.
