Cascina di Mezzo is an agritourism farm in the heart of the South Milan agricultural park, renovated in the late 1980s in full respect of the traditional Lombard setting. For more than ten years, the entire Pirola family - father, mother and three sons with their respective families - have been working on the farm to offer the opportunity to enjoy the flavours and hospitality of the most genuine Lombard tradition, guaranteeing a high standard of quality in the service and products offered. The 70 hectares of farmland, orchard and vegetable garden are cultivated and processed to guarantee the farm's guests the maximum genuineness of the products. Cattle, pigs and farmyard animals (chickens, hens, ducks, rabbits, turkeys, geese) feed exclusively on the results of our crops. The mill grinds flour, and the vegetable garden and orchard are irrigated by our natural springs. The in-house slaughterhouse is a further guarantee that the meat is controlled and that the hygiene regulations governing agritourism are respected. The same meats are processed into high-quality cold cuts and sausages or into delicious dishes to be enjoyed in our restaurant or at home. The first agritourism with restaurant to be established in the Milanese province, completely immersed in the countryside but only 15 km from the city, Cascina di Mezzo represents the perfect union between the tradition of the farm and the new reality of the agritourism. A place to spend a few hours in the countryside in a simple, warm and welcoming environment that, thanks to careful attention to detail, is both simple and elegant. The restaurant is created from the old renovated stable and the adjacent portico; it lends itself to romantic dinners, business lunches and events, refreshments, parties and ceremonies. Every detail is carefully thought out, the plant-covered troughs, the well-kept furnishings, the fresh flowers and the decorative elements linked to the earth all contribute to creating a warm and refined ambience; the large open gallery overlooking the garden is the ideal space to enjoy our buffet hors d'oeuvres in total relaxation. The menu is fixed and follows the seasons; everything that comes to the table is rigorously produced on the farm to guarantee maximum genuineness. Simple and comfortable in taste, there are 3 lodgings available to guests. The studios - one of which has no kitchen - have been converted from the old farmhouses, fully respecting the pre-existing structures. Each accommodation is equipped with a bathroom with shower and TV. It is an excellent opportunity to combine days of physical and mental relaxation with the exciting world of Milanese fashion and clubs: Milan, in fact, is only 15 kilometres away.
